Is there other VCL components for Delphi with the same functionality?

I am using dtpDocument.
What do you want to know ?

When I bought it, I didn't find anything else.
Now, there is Sweet_Drawing Engine (for free, I think).

dtpDocument :

- It is very good for pictures, and picture treatement (effects,
transparency, anti-aliasing...).
Rotation, grouping of objects, fonts are used as vector, which give more
possibility to stretch them...

- If you only need lines, boxes and text, it is an overkill (and the
anti-aliasing makes the black lines difficult to see when you zoom out)

- Very very slow for printing an A4 page: I had to reprogramm a
complete new printing routine: sometime I needed to print 100 pages, and
it was not possible for my custumers to wait for half an hour and get a
spooler full with hundreth of Megabytes !

- You will have to build the UI yourself

- Support: Nils Haeck, the maker (very active on the b.p.d.graphics
forum), answers, either very fast, or not at all (for this printing
problem, no help at all)... One man firm problem ?

- Documentation is poor,

- The source is well written, with some comments

I think dtpDocument is replaced now by Pyro, but is still not officialy
released (as far as I know).

Hi eLion,
I would like to know if it can export or save documents in standard image
format like BMP, Jpeg, PDF etc...

Also if I can save the document to a stream with my own extension.

Hi,
You may try ImageEn from www.hicomponents.com
It has many great features and a very low price

Hi eLion,

It can save proprietary format, or you can get a bitmap.
(it uses GR32 internally).
This would be easy to transform that bitmap in any other image format,
using another graphic library (GraphicEx for example).

No PDF.

yes, the file save in proprietary format can have any extension.

I suggest you to post in b.p.d.graphics: dtpDocuments maker Nils is
active there and could answers your question better.

Pyro is officially released, but does not yet contain an editor module like
DtpDocuments. There's just no website yet because I want Pyro to first be
used by the "early adopters" and see how they like it, and I want to add
these missing pieces before I create the website. There is however a forum
specifically for it:
http://www.simdesign.nl/forum/viewforum.php?f=13

Anyone just interested in rendering high quality graphics (without editing
for now) can already take a look at Pyro.

Pyro will not completely replace DtpDocuments; it will just be used "under
the hood" in DtpDocuments to take over the rendering that is now still done
by Graphics32.

Since Pyro supports more formats than Graphics32, Pyro will also enable
export inside DtpDocuments to e.g. SVG and PDF. I'm still working on all
this :)

I know.. I clean it once a week, but the rate with which spam gets posted is
horrible. I seem to need a spam filter. Somehow though, they only target the
first "big" forum which is DtpDocuments. I'll clean it again (sigh).
