|
|
In my retirement I exercise my greymatter by writing standalone D3 programs
with BDE and Paradox. I may be upgrading to Vista.
Will D3 run on Vista?
If not which version should I buy, D2007 for Win32 or Turbo Pro? As Turbo is
(slightly) more expensive I assume it has more features and be the one to
buy.
Any suggestions. |

I havent tried it - I guess I could..... I would expect it to run, you
would need to download the HLP help for vista but other than that, it
should run, you'd just need to run it in the elevated level all the
time.. if I get bored, I'll dig D3 out and try it..

turbo's more expensive than D2007? that cant be right! Oh well, 2007
IMHO is the better product, it has fixes, and vista options with in it.
I love my D2007.

It may be problematic, but it might be possible if you can disable UAC,
stick to basic mode, and configure the folders you install D3 into with
extended rights. But there is no guarantee that it will work.

D2007 would be my choice if you do not want to explore writing programs
for .NET. The Turbos are subsets of BDS 4.0 (Delphi 2006), so are not
certified for Vista. From what I've heared so far they do run on Vista
with little problems if you avoid Aero.
