I don't know which communication technique to choose.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the following
APIs:
ODBC
ADO
dbExpress
I am using Builder + Sybase |

Without knowing what kind of data you are storing, it is better to go with
the one that is easiest to code and easiest for someone that might also work
on your program to understand. ADO or dbExpress would be my choice. |

Hello
It depends on many things:
- Sybase ASA or ASE
- what kind of application are you developing
- what performance requirements you have
etc
It is native for Sybase ASA, fast, reliable.
It is native for MS DBMS's. And not fast for other
DBMS's and not flexible. I mean ADO Express is not
flexible.
Quite fast. Not 100% reliable. Components
are not that flexible as many 3d parties.
PS: Just want to show, that there are many points,
where one will be more strong, than another, etc
Regards,
Dmitry
