The big question for me is if it will finally be possible to compile all the
third-party open-source stuff (like libpar) into obj's that Delphi can
directly link in? Otherwise, I'm not sure I have much further use for C++
Builder, personally.

Is libpar a C or C++ library? If C, then it should be possible to use it
in Delphi today...

Cool!
It's the 'feature matrix' available?

Right on. Looking forward to it.

Early June is almost here. I agree with Sebastion, it would be nice to see
a feature matrix. David, when can we expect to see more details?

I wonder how CG will sell it now that Delphi 2007 for WIn32 is already
released? This has made things confusing IMO. I thought when I upgraded to
BDS2006 that successive upgrades would include each personality.

I don't know for sure, I'll ask. Was the Delphi 2007 Feature Matrix
made available before it shipped?

I don't know. Building anticipation is always a good thing I think though,
and having some details would do that to some degree.

Yes, a feature matrix should be made available in the near future.
I'll try to post as soon as I learn the URL.

I do wonder if there is any point if we are not interested in Vista. We do
need a commercially viable alternative to a operating system that is solely
designed for multimedia and which has no place in offices Sad
Or do your bosses allow watching videos and playing games all day :)

I don't really have any interest in supporting vista yet but these would
probably interest me:

-Increased ANSI C++ conformance and compatibility including Boost and
Dinkumware library support
-New C++ build flexibility and custom configurations powered by the
Microsoft MSBuild engine
-Up to 5 times in-IDE build performance improvements over prior versions
-UML C++ source code visualization
-Integrated C++ unit testing

This one would probably interest me more if it listed PostGres:

-New DBX 4 RAD data access with support for the latest versions of popular
RDBMs including CodeGear InterBase®, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL®, Oracle®,
IBM® DB2, and Sybase®

This may interest me if I knew what "virtual folders" were <g>
-C++ IDE enhancements including virtual folders and enhanced C++ structure
pane

I don't know how they evaluate "increase" but according to boost
regression summary (Alisdair reported 5.9-presale just this morning)
there are still lots of problems with bcc conformance and I don't
quite understand how they're going to sell such "increased"
conformance :(

Is Postgres supported by the older Borland database driver technologies?
I think DBX 4 includes some bridge technology that allows
compatibility with old drivers, so maybe they just didn't think Postgres
needed to be listed. I don't read that as being an exhaustive list of
every supported database technology.

I think it's an organizational tool for your project where you can
create a "folder" in your project that doesn't map to any actual disk
directory. It's not unlike a folder in your browser's bookmark manager.
It doesn't map to an actual file structure on your computer's hard
drive. It's just a conceptual structure that helps you organize.

Hi:
<speculation> I guess it's something like 'Source Pools' that are available
in BC5.0x.
I heard (to Allen Bauer?) talking about something like this to be
incorporated into the BCB2007 </speculation>

I wasn't sure how to interpret Dinkumware support either
since it's currently shipped with BDS. Do they mean a
newer version with iterator debugging for example?
