Given a color bitmap to be used on a button, does anyone know
how to create an "inactive" version of the bmp, i.e. gray outline.
Any programs to auto-convert a bmp to an "inactive" version of
the image?

Thanks,

Mike,
I tried #137 and resulting bmp was just bmp of clBtnFace (I think?),
a solid square same size as original at any rate.
MonoBmp was all black.
DDB was same as my orig bmp.
Any ideas?

I tried orig bmp which was 256 colors,
then tried orig changed to 16 million colors,
then tried orig changed to grayscale,
then tried orig with Transparancy set (reuired 256 colors),
and all same result.

Tip #137 works for orig that have distinct lines w/i pic.
The orig image I used, which failed, had only fuzzy edges
of objects. It was done by Graphics Arts co and it looked
good at full scale, but #137 could not find the edges to any
shapes, and thus, could not show the edges depressed. By
hand placing black pixels for shape outline (Paint Shop Pro),
#137 did, then, produce the "Inactive" image.
