Hallo Patrik,
I'm sorry, I haven't got a solution for you, I'm searching for the same for
a long time now.
I tried to use JNI and a dll I wrote for RAS on WinCE, but with little
effort.
I also tried to get a connection to a WebServer (port 80) whenever I need a
connection to my application server (different port), so the OS should
connect to the ISP (like it is doing when starting the Internet Explorer),
but I only got a "java.net.ConnectException" with Jeode.
What strategies do you follow to solve this problem?

Feedback is welcomed.
Untested alternative would be to install it on windows box then transfer the required files
to the linux box... (I think you could get the design side working, but may be not the
runtime - though you can combine MobileSet with my OT to run the midlet)
