|
|
Hello everyone,
I tried to look for instructions for the QC client...
Maybe someone can answer a few questions?
What goes in 'Build Number'?
What should go in 'Descriptions' and the large area under it?
What goes in 'Steps'?
What goes in 'Comments'?
What goes in 'Attachments'?
Any comments would also be appreciated...
Thank you,
Bruce Larrabee |

In the case of BDS 2006, the version number in the about box. (update
1 is 10.0.2166.28377

The short description should be a quick/short summary of the
bug/suggestion.
The large are is there to go into more detail as to why you think it is
a problem, or to better describe what you think should be addressed.

Steps should be step by step instructions to duplicate the behavior
you are trying to document.

Comments are there so that others can contribute their own
experience, or to ask you questions about your report.

Screen shots, source code, or anything else to aid in demonstrating
what the report is about.

I am a very low level sysop, so the thing I do most is to mark
reports as needing attention, so that other sysops can get the reports
opened or closed as appropriate. If I cannot follow your steps to
duplicate the report, I won't mark it ready to go into the internal
system.
I sometimes will add an attachment or refine the steps to help get
the report opened, but this is usually just to make it easier for the
higher level sysops to duplicate the report as well.
Be sure to check back with (or track) your reports so that if someone
asks a question in the comments, you can answer it quickly.

David,
Thank you for helping out! And thank you for the other help you've
provided me in the last couple of weeks... I appreciate it.
I've been using C++Builder since version 1.0. I've been using C since
Kernighan (or was it Ritchie?)
I have usually struggled with problems on my own, only coming here
when faced with something truly intractable and unavoidable...
More often than not someone had the answer. (amazing!)
I always try to provide an answer or two when I do drop by...
(such as they are) I remember the first question I ever answered here
was, "how can I create a console application with Builder?".
(if I remember correctly I received a message about becoming a TeamB
member, I had no clue what that was...)
Lately I find myself with the need to take advantage of anything that
will promote greater productivity. This place and a couple others seem
like likely resources.
Thanks,
Bruce Larrabee

Thank you for the kind words. FWIW, I use an real address here, but
it is greylisted to reduce the spam. So, if you still want to email me
you can.
