I have an application that uses an Alias throughout it's ttable and sql
calls. The old ISX 2.2 uses objects which works alright except it sets up
floppy
disks. I have been able to install from that, but would rather have a CD
install.

In InstallShield Express a merge module (5.11) is used, but I have yet to
get it connected to the install. Apparently the bdemmcfg.exe app isn't
designed to interface to InstallShield Express since it uses the present
Idapi32.cfg file that I use to develop with and the directory used can't be
used in an install.

So the only option left is to modify the bdemerge.ini file. I found a post
from InstallShield that recommends the following:

[MyProgram]
Driver=PARADOX
Params=PATH:[INSTALLDIR]aFolder;ENABLE BCD:FALSE
BDEDriver=STANDARD

[MyProgram] is the Alias

In the General information of the ExpressProject at the productproperties
the INSTALLDIR is: [ProgramFilesFolder]MyProgram

This didn't work either. At the end of the Test install, it spat out:
'Unable to merge new Configuration
Use BDE Adminstrtor to merge your new configuration'

This isn't acceptable as user's don't give a s..t about doing things like
this.

Someone out there must have gotten this to work. How is it accomplished?
