Hi
I can't seem to find where to configure # of spaces for a tab. The
default is something like 8, which is about 6 too many :)

The accepted standard for the tab character itself is 8 (it goes back to
the old teletype days). You can change the number of indent spaces when
you press the tab key under "Tools | Preferences... | Editor | Markup
Formatting".

I see 2 choices: indent with Tabs or Spaces. I want to use tabs;
however, I just want to reduce the number of spaces represented by a tab.

Tools |Preferences | Project | Java Formatting
There you can define Tab size.
