|
|
When I right-click on a method name and select Find References, JBuilder
used to find all the references in my project. All of a sudden, it started
only returning references in the current file, making it practically
useless. Any idea how I get the original behavior back?
To my knowledge, I did not change any of my preferences. I did install and
remove several old versions of the Java JRE (completely outside of the
JBuilder installation file structure), but I didn't think they had anything
to do with JBuilder.
Thanks,

Are you sure you use the "find references" option and not the "find local references" option?

Have you installed Update 4? It is the most recent patch for JB2005.
Make sure you have it.
I have found that sometimes the dependency cache gets confused, and the
Find References doesn't work. Then I usually perform a rebuild and it
works again.

This happens to me on a semi-regular basis. Most of the times, when I
fully rebuild (nuke the classes directory and recompile - though I
actually use "Ant" to do my build), and restart JBuilder, it starts
working again, for a bit.
Another annoyance is that every so often, when I hit Search for Classes,
it won't show me any of the classes in my project in the incremental
search. But when I click on the "refresh project" button, it'll work -
exactly once. Repeat ad nauseam.
(All this on Update 4).
