|
|
Hi,
I've been using JBuilder for years - since version 4.
I'm now using Jbuilder 2005 Enterprise.
Recently, (since installing 2005), when I compile any source code (normally a servlet), I get the blue screen of death for about 1 second, before my machine reboots. This happens after its been happily compiling for a few seconds.
It doesn't do this everytime I compile, but at least once a day.
I have SP4 installed, and all Windows XP service packs.
I would tell you what the blue screen says, but it only lasts about a second and I can't read it all!
Anyone else have this problem?
With all these problems (designer not 'remembering things' etc), I've had enough of it, and gone back to using Jbuilder X.

This maybe a correct newsgroup.
Please try disabling automatic reboot after the crash and look for the
stack dump where the crash happened. Java seldom crashes itself, but
taking the system with itself is outrageous. I would blame a bad driver
(video, disk or network) or a faulty antivirus.

OK, it just happened again, and I've only recompiled 3 times today.
The blue screen says...
"A problem has been detected & windows is shutting down to prevent damage to your computer.
KERNEL_APC_PENDING_DURING_EXIT
If this is the first time blah blah...etc, etc
TECHNICAL INFORMATION.
*** STOP: 0x00000020 (0x8174D198,0xFFFFFFFF,0x00000000,0x00000000)
Begining physical dump..."
I haven't changed ANYTHING on my machine for months, except service packs, and no other program (including JBuilder X) causes this problem.
Thanks for your help.

Could it be your CPU overheating?
To test this you could try using Windows Task Manager to set the process
priority of JBuilderw.exe to BelowNormal.

I'm off to JBuilder X, seems a lot more stable to me.

I think Microsoft has a service that can interpret crash dumps.

There used to be a problem with old video drivers that could manifest
this way. Please check your <jbuilder2005>binjdk.config file for the
settings related to such problems, and uncomment one or more of these to
see if it alleviates your problem.
