A spokesman for Microsoft, Chin Xu-Lin stated, "Any
program ever written prior to this release will simply not
work and that was our goal".

Dude - read the URL, then chill out. "Spoof" is in it twice. I
enjoyed it.

I read the URL, and found it stupid and tasteless. But maybe I'm too
old to think that Naziism is a good foundation for humor.

I didn't happen to even pay much attention to the picture. I simply
read a few paragraphs and found it not funny.

Good for you, I didn't. I just found it plain stupid, no matter what the URL
reads.

Alan.

SP2 changed my notebook computer (video chip is GeForce 420 Go) LCD
resolution,
from 1024x768 to 969x768. leaving a black bar on screen right.
without rhyme or reason.

Come on Alan, just a simple joke... This one is soo good:

"Oddly enough, Visual Studio .Net, a program used to write code and produce
web based programs will not be affected. "We decided to leave one product
alone and Visual Studio won out", stated Xu-Lin." <....> "Customers may
download the free 135.7 GB PDF file on our homepage, and teach themselves
programming", lamented Xu-Lin."

Anyway this is off topic so, goodbye :)

Kyriacos, it seems by the responses that you picked the wrong group to
post this link. Try in the future to post links of this type in
b.p.o.t. Anyways, I got a chuckle out of this as did alot of
co-workers.

<shrug> I dunno. I know the site is trying to be funny, but I don't think it
is funny. And parallels between the Nazis and Bill Gates are a non-starter
with me.

As for the XP SP2 update, my wife tried it last night. Complete nightmare.
It opened up previously closed ports (odd for a security-conscious update)
and broke a whole bunch of programs. It took her hours to resecure her PC
(she connects directly to the internet instead of going through the hardware
firewall built into the wireless router). It also screwed up her Ad-Aware
list of banned URL's.

She was rather irate.

Everything contained in this post that is not quoted from others, is merely
an opinion. It may be a well-informed opinion motivated by an uncanny grasp
of facts and amazingly well-formulated theories, but it remains opinion
nevertheless. I speak for nobody but myself, and even then I may get it
wrong from time to time.

OK, I didn't read the picture caption, and didn't pay that much
attention to the picture itself. I guess I'm not very well
acquainted with such things, I didn't catch the connection at all
until you pointed it out. I still think the main article is funny,
without the picture, but the pic's gone too far.

FWIW, I'm older than 25 <g>
