allo

I write in the hope that someone can shed some light on my quest for the
mobile edition for Delphi7.
I had seen the ad that there is the mobile development kit downloadable from
borland's website.
but now i could not find any where to download the mobile edition, the nokia
development kit for D7.

I had written to support in Singapore but no one replies to that question.

I hope this community will provide an anwser.

thanks and ciao

daniel

Afaik there are no Delphi versions for non x86 compatible processors. Since mobiles
usually aren't x86 that means no delphi on the mobile.

..net code runs on any processor/machine running the .net runtime. This means
that Delphi for .net code can run anywhere .net does. This will include
pocket devices when Microsoft gives out the details for the "Compact
Framework" for pocket devices so that Borland can make their code
compatible.

Cheers,

.net code runs on any processor/machine running the .net runtime.

And how many are there at the moment that are fully featured enough to potentially
be able to run Delphi.NET code?

It could in theory. In theory, PDA's could also run code morphing software
and simply emulate the x86 code, but they don't,

Moreover, how will it perform on these little devices (memory wise and
performance wise). Not much is known about this yet. The win32 .NET runtime
alone is larger than a lot PDA's total memory.

P.s. Delphi compatible Free Pascal compiler said "hello world" today on Sharp
Zaurus (a StrongARM).
