To all here: before you start complaining about cancellations, please
read what you find on the links posted below. Note that it is no use to
complain about the rules. They are how they are, and they are how they
were intended to be.

Guideline:
http://support.borland.com/entry.jspa?externalID=293

Etiquette:
http://support.borland.com/entry.jspa?externalID=294

Legal Notices:
http://www.borland.com/us/website/legal.html

When we see a violation, we will often cancel it. Sometimes we will warn
the person, but we are not required to. If a person is a repeat offender,
I personally will not warn the person again and again.

What is considered a violation is up to our discretion. It also no use to
discuss this with us. It is bad enough that we must cancel, and
discussing a cancel is asking too much.

While it may appear that we cancel whatever we personally dislike, this
is certainly not the case. We are guided by the rules above. We do see
each other's actions, and we will react if we think one member is going
overboard on a certain subject, and discuss this internally.

Also, when a TeamB member considers a particular post questionable, and
is having difficulty determining whether it merits cancellation, he or
she asks the other members, in a private forum. This sometimes leads to
quite lengthy discussions. So if there is some question as to whether a
post could be offensive, the collective opinion of all of TeamB
contributes to the decision to remove it or leave it. This certainly can
only help lead to fair and consistent treatment.

I hope this answers a few of the issues brought up here.

Are there any similar links for Borland corporate blogs?

You can't post to them anyway.

I didn't ask if I could post, which I wouldn't. I'm asking if there are

some guidelines/rules that borland employees need to follow when posting.

There are. John Kaster posted them a while ago on his blog:

The rules I posted are there for those who want to post to these
newsgroups.

I have no intention of discussing the blogs, for which I am not a
moderator anyway.

This is especially interesting, and explains very well why you have
cancelled a post by marc hoffman that was absolutely polite and
inoffensive (but certainly uncomfortable for you).

the server before being cancelled ;^D

I agree that TeamB cancels posts that are polite and inoffensive.
I've experience the same tactic from TeamB when you don't agree with
certain members of TeamB's arguments - but yet you are very polite in
doing so.
I think that kind of behavior is very unprofessional.

I do wish TeamB weren't the moderators.

wow that is quite nice, I did not know that.
Sounds like the right way of doing it.

Just curious. Why are you concerned about the rules Borland inposes on
their own employees' blogs?
