Hello,
Is there a free VCL for reading CPU or motherboard serial number?
I need to limit usage of a software to a certain computer and I need a
clue.
It will be great if someone even can give me a hint on writing such a
component.

Why don't you take that computer's SID, possibly combined with that
computer's local administrator's SID?

But I don't want to make problem for them if they change their OS.

But when the change their OS they're probably reinstalling that on a
different machine anyway. So if they're doing that they'll have to re-
register the software. Could be worse...
Does your software run on multiple OSes?
