Which operating systems did you download for? If for Windows: Did you download the version with the installer? If Not: Just extract the Zip file to C:MySQL and run C:MySQLbinwinmysqladmin.exe. This has the specifics on how to setup this version. Remember that this is an Alpha version. If you are not looking for the latest and greatest MySQL features then you may want look at the 4.0 stable release ([url]http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/4.0.html)[/url]. Version 4.0 has the option of downloading with or without the installer. The WinMySQLAdmin is just the administration tool. You may also need the MySQL Control Center (seperate download).
