Hi !
We are seeking an expert advice on MySQL & Delphi.
We have a new project and we have decided to use MySQL (ver 5) as the
database for different reasons. The application requires transaction support
(innodb).
Now we have to select the platform and the tool for s/w development. We have
been developing s/w using Delphi (desktop database - paradox). The new
project is not a web based application. We are thinking of using Delphi 7,
but we are confused as the drivers are available only for MySQL 3.23.49
version.
Can we use the latest MySQL version with Delphi 7? If so, can we use the
professional version of Delphi 7?
Pl advice.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Bala

The latest updated dbexpress supports mysql versions upto 4.0.x
Also the version 5.0.0a-alpha has been just released for testing. Any errors
that might occur, you can't really tell if they come from the dbexpress or
the mysql...

If you want to stay bleading edge, I would definitely look at the crlab.com
driver. That have 4.1 support already.
