One of the last messages (this one  in this group has index of almost
372100 on the server.

And that is also what a "list" command tells me when telnet'ing to the
server.

But when I look at the last messages on another computer that has not
been reset yet, the index numbers are as high as 374700.
So until the server bumps its index numbers some few thousands in each
group, (or we do a reset newsgroups) we will not see new messages.
In this group we might loose about 2600 messages. (= 374700 - 372100)
I might be wrong in this, but I do think the server itself could help us
all by bumping the index counters.
