I have just posted a new CompareStr B&V tool.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fastcodeproject/files/CompareStr/Version%202.4/

Changes include a new function by myself, and some filler code to correct
function alignment.

I will shortly be doing the same with:-

CompareMem
CompareText
Pos
PosEx
PosIEx
PolAdd
PolSub
PolToRect

Hi John

That is fine.

You could have given us a hint. I have a new function for CompareStr too.
Though not a really fast one ;-)

I am working on Ceil32 and Floor32. Send any functions to me or post them
here.

I hope we all can cooperate on doing the benchmarks, validations and the
spreadsheets.

Best regards

Hi John

I would like you to use the standard subject type.

This would be "Fastcode CompareStr B&V 2.4" for this thread.

I only included the link to the Yahoo Page. There will always be some lag
in the sourceforge pages being updated.

Hi

As soon as a D2005 compiled exe is available in the release then I will
start running benchmarks and validations and post results here.

Then somebody should update the spreadsheet.

The last time I ran benchmarks the results got nowhere.

Best regards

I will post the EXE's in attachments. I do not really want to put the EXE's
on the space-limited SourceForge.site.

IMHO this is a bad idea. I breaks consistency with all previous releases.
One more step in the wrong direction. An exe file belongs in the release.
People wanted exe files to be released to make it easy to help benchmarking
and validating. We have 50 exe files each approx 700 kB. This is 30 MB. If
this is a problem then we should fix it by using a site that is big enough.

One of the big problems with releasing EXE's together with the source code
is that many people will not or are forbidden from downloading EXE's or
ZIP's containing EXE's (this is certainly true with some of my clients).
Perhaps we should supply the source code and EXE's as separate files.

Hi John

We have release zip's with exe's for 3 years without problems.

My size calculations did not acount for compression. All our exe's will take
up less than 10 MB.
