Hi

I am writing an app that uses Oracle as its primary db.

I have read that the use of UPPER function in SQL statements stops the db
from using indexes and I assume that this must be a bad thing. However, I
just don't see how I can perform searches on textual data without using it,
is there a better way?

Chris
