After a 3 year pause in C++ Builder programming and extensive perl
programming I am finding C++ to be a major pain in the butt for RAD
projects. I looked into Delphi with the hope of finding something
that gets the job done quicker - it appears that the fundamentals are
pretty much the same, it might be somewhat more efficient, but other
than compiler speed, I don't think the programmer time savings are of
orders of magnitude.
I wished there was a perl backend to the Borland RAD framework. That
would be the KING of RAD. With the parrot VM it might not be as hard
to implement as before.

ps. this is not a relegious posting I like Borland's RAD
environment, it's just frustratingly slow to program in C++ when
compared to perl. OK, I have been spoiled by perl.
