Hello everyone,
There doesn't seem to be any way to use ActiveX visual components
in BDS2006 with C++. No ActiveX section on the Tool Palette.
???
Thanks,

Under the Component menu choose Import Component. In the dialog
choose C++, then Import ActiveX control. You can use the add button if
the Control is not in the list.

Hello Dean, B)
Hey, I tried that. I go to the Component menu and choose
Import ActiveX Control but there is no place to choose C++.
And when I continue with the process nothing seems to happen?
And there is not ActiveX section in the Tool Palette?
The ONLY way I could bring up and access anything ActiveX
was to start a 'Windows Forms Application' (ONLY way...)
I must be doing something wrong...
(but it has nothing to do with this... ;)
Thanks,

I'll post a set of screen shots to the attachments group with this
subject, and you can tell me how they differ from what you are seeing.

Hello Dean,
Ok I looked at the images that you provided.
When I select 'Import Component' from the menu
the first dialog I get is 'Type of Component',
it says, 'Select type of component'. (just like
the one you posted)
If I select 'Import ActiveX COntrol' it takes
me to a dialog that show a list labeled 'Registered
ActiveX Controls'.
If I try to install one it doesn't do so, although
it does build the header file ('Component Wrapper'?)
Thanks a lot for all the help BTW,

OK, I don't have a lot of experience with doing this, but this is
what I did next to get the control into the ActiveX portion of the tool
palette.
I chose File->New->Package. I then added the .cpp files that were
generated by the earlier step to the project. I did save all and gave
the project a name. I then did Project->Build All, then chose Install
from the context menu in the Project Manager. I got a dialog saying that
the new component was added. I then closed the project, created a new
VCL one, and found the new component in the ActiveX section of the tool
palette. I dropped it onto the new form.
I hope that this gets you where you want to be, because I'm not
familiar enough with this part of the IDE to offer much more. Good luck.
