|
|
I am trying to follow this example
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/db2/library/techarticle/0212swart/0212swart.html
for building a multi-tier app.
I am using BDS2006 Update 1 on WinXP
I have Server 2003 running on another PC
I have sucessfully created the server side app and registered it on the 2003
server.
I can see that it is registered by looking in the Component Services under
the DCOM Config section
I created a sample client app and added a DCOMConnection to it.
I placed the name of the Windows Server 2003 into the ComputerName property.
(I used the "Browse for Computer" dialog to do this)
When I click the drop arrow on the ServerName property, nothing shows up. (I
should have seen the app server I created?)
I tried to enter the name of the server in the property but it does not
work.
Does the name of the registered DCOM server go in this property?
Any suggestion would be great.
Thanks,
Wes

One more thing....When I run the server side on my development PC, it
registers and I can see the ServerName when I click the drop-down in that
property of TDCOMConnection. I just can't see it when I try to run it on
the Windows Server 2003.
Thanks,
Wes
