|
|
Hello,
During the past week I've been playing with the GDI trying to mimic the
painting of Office 12 elements, I've published my results to the
jrsoftware.toolbar2000.thirdparty group cause there's nothing I'd rather see
than TB2k5 or TBX emulating the Office 12 UI.
Now that I've done some of the (harder to paint) elements I need to speed
painting up a bit so it could be animated (smooth fade like in Office), so
if anyone's in the mood please take a look and tell me if there's a better
way to draw those gradients. I used lots of floating-point arithmethic, but
I believe that those of you more experianced than me know of a
faster-better-cleaner (integer) way of doing this.
I'm also stuck with a tube-like gradient which acts as a caption for ribbon
segments (separates the ribbon from the tabs at the top), I just can't get
it right, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you're interested you can get numerous screenshots and a video clip (all
zipped in a 1.48MB file) from
http://alas.matf.bg.ac.yu/~mr05185/o12material.zip (I can get you as much
screenshots as you need) and my projects' sources from
http://mxs.bergsoft.net/files/O12Src.zip (no additional stuff needed to
compile, just the standard components) and compiled exe-demos from
http://mxs.bergsoft.net/files/O12Exes.zip .
{ I sure hope Jens is reading this (he's got a kick-a** gradient component
in his PegtopCommon pack, I'm sure this would be a piece of cake for him)
}
//Remember children, comments aren't compiled in your application! ;)
Cheers
