For my Mutis project, I'm building a convert program from C# code to
Delphi code. Hate to say, is impossible debug it properly under Delphi
2005... simply all the vars and inner info is almost invisible and the
things are visible have unusable HEX values!

The thing that I considered less worked in Delphi is the debugging
experience (I'm from a VFP/VS.NET background)... Sometimes the VS.NET
JavaScript debugger can do some wonders I want in delphi...

I want to know if exist sometime know about if this kind of improvements
can be in Dexter:

- Can inspect the local/public vars, fully (with inner data)
- Is unecesary switch among the 2-3 tools to see a value (somethings
work in the debug window, others in inspect and others in evaluate.)
- Can be very nice if something like the uncoming debug views in VS.NEt
can be present in Dexter

If exist QC reports to this thing, I want to know ...

Yes... unfortunally I'm stuck on this because I have 0 experience with
PHP/MySql and I rely in xoops to do the trick... However i think is a
sourceforge problem, because if I do refresh suddenly is working...

I think that the trouble is with the MySql server of sourceforge

The good thing is that its been opened so hopefully its being
considered for the next Delphi release.

And if you're writing Delphi for .NET apps, you can use the debugger
which ships with the SDK to get a similar debugging experience to the
Visual Studio IDE. I blogged about it a while ago. Bear in mind that it
was written when I still only had D8

We have said (on BDNradio, at least) that there is a plan for a new
release by the end of the year. Please note that "plan" <> "promise".

Hey, there are lots of people who like C++. It's one of David I's
favorite languages, even. It's just like art.

Indeed. I used to love it, even for years and years after I discovered
Delphi. It is so wonderfully powerful and flexible. Very rich.

The only thing is that I haven't used it in years, so I don't know if I would
still love it if I went back to it. I've been Delphi-only since 2001. (I'm
surprised at how few developers really know Delphi inside and out. Delphi is
kind of like Chess, it takes a few minutes to learn but several years to
truly master. I cringe when I recall by first Delphi programs.)

Yeah, I know. It was meant to be a light-hearted jab in the tradition
of the underdog socking it to the big guns.

I reckon I'd quite enjoy it too if I had more exposure to it. Heck, I
even bought myself a copy of Accelerated C++, but haven't found time to
get beyond Chapter 1 yet.

So far in my career I've probably only ever written about a dozen lines
of C++ code. I've stared at lots though, as around here that is quite
often all I get as a spec. :-)

I hope that it will be released "when it's ready"(tm). If that means we have
to wait until sometime in 2006, so be it. This newsgroup is useless for
finding out the actual quality of the release, so I'll have to rely on the
"try it and see" method. It'd be nice if the first try resulted in a useful
result, especially given the upgrade prices I've seen lately on the web site.

And you are sure there are no special characters in you php code. Maybe you
transferred the php files with binary. Try ascii instead.
