Hi Everyone,
I'm VERY new to the world of Java. I have only downloaded JBuilder's trial and
looked at my first program yesterday. Our company is exploring the possibility
of moving our programming environment to Java. As I understand Java, my program
will run atop JVM and be interpreted into platform-specific instructions at
runtime. A recent story relayed to me by a Cisco guy makes me think twice about
this. He said they migrated their office management software to Java and had
enough problems with JVM versions (forcing them to bundle JVM thus causing
Windows to upgrade/downgrade JVM as necessary to run their program, eventually
causing "window to break") that they abandoned the project. :(
I've also heard it's possible to bypass this step and compile my program in
multiple builds for specific platforms, ie, 1 for Windows, 1 for MAC, 1 for
Linux, 1 for Unix, etc, without changing my source code. This seems like it
could circumvent this potential pitfall, and thus appeals to me very much. Is it
possible to accomplish this with Borland JBuilder 2006?
Thanks so much!

Is this function built-in to JBuilder?
