I've run into a time problem with a project using ASP - the client is
complaining that the WEB approach is too slow and lacks "Windows"
functionality(!).

I thought to solve it rapidly by writing the app as a 3-tier Delphi
client-server module running with TWebConnection as access as to be over
port 80 to avoid customer installation problems.
I'm currently working on XP Pro, SP2, IIS5 runnning as the local WEB server,
and testing all this *locally*.

Connecting locally using a DCOM component works perfectly!

However, I can't get the TWebconnection to work - it can see the "server"
over the internet, but when I try to connect I get "access denied".

I've spent hours searching all the news groups, Tamaracka etc and there is
very little about "how to" solve this this problem.

I've put the httpsrvr.dll and the midas.dll in the same folder as the server
program, and registered the midas.dll. I also registered the server.
Wininet.dll is in the windows system folder.
I've given httpsrvr, midas and the server.exe IUSR_username (and IWAM)
rights at the NTFS level.
The web server folder has "script and execute rights".

I can't see what else I need to do.
I'm getting really desperate. Can anyone help me out? PLEASE!

(Will DCOM work over the internet?)

TIA

Barry

Sorry - was being an idiot - I pointed the TWebconnection URL to the web
server folder instead of to the almost identically named VIRTUAL Directory!!

Panic is a real killer...
