|

Using the QuickReports that comes with Delphi 7, is there a way to
export to a PDF? I know this is something available in better versions,
but we're pretty much stuck with the version we have here for a while.
Does anyone know of any way to do it, with or without 3rd party
(freeware, ideally) tools?

Well, there isn't a free QuickReport to PDF available at the moment.
The closest would be the $25 add-ons from http://www.waler.com/
The other is from Gnostice but that is $199 and for that price, it probably
makes more sense upgrading to the current version of Quickreport which
supports PDF export natively.
Hope that helps

Last time I checked, the "native" PDF export posibilities of QR was very
limited. Not all the elements were exported, and so on. I use Gnostice
eDocEngine with QR, which works great for pdf, and loads of other formats. I
see that they have a ExportReport version of eDocEngine out now, priced at
$129.

By far the easiest way is to have PDFWriter installed as a printer
driver.
I have tried several of the pdf export filters and they all have problems
with formatting etc...
The printer driver comes free with Acrobat but I am sure you could
probably find a "free" version floating around. )

Hello,
I disagree. It depends on what version you use. I.e, if you use version
3.x, you can update it to version 3.6
In version 3.6 the export of PDF files works fine. It also prints
images, labels and shapes correctly. (I am using Delphi 5).
I can send you any version of Quickreport you like (for all Delphi
versions). You can use it to see if it fits your needs. There is no need
to use another third party component.
Cheers,
Robert

and I am disagree also. |
I have 3.6.2 incl. source and there are no images! if I print it to PDF.
I also have also bought the tool from www.waler.com but it also do not print
PDF correctly.
But perhaps I made something wrong? I am also using Delphi 5
