Now that Delphi 2006 is out in the streets, can some one clarify whether the
bundled Rave edition supports both win 32 & .net(including asp.net).This was
announced in 24 Hours of Dexter though no one would confirm it

Rave BE (Borland Edition) version 6.5 is bundled with Delphi 2006. It supports both Win32 and .NET. More precisely, Rave supports the VCL portion of .NET but we do not have any native WinForm components. However, you can "create" the Rave VCL .NET components in-code, then you could use those to generate reports.

Do you mean the version 6.0.5 or a new release 6.5?

Hi,

Quote:

The bundled versions of Rave Reports are BE (Borland Edition) products and are compiled specifically to run on that Borland product. The version numbers are not duplicated between the BE and BEX products. For example, version 6.0.1 is a BE product, but 6.0.2 to 6.0.5 are BEX versions. The Rave BE products are given a unique version number. For Delphi 2006, the version number for the bundled Rave Reports BE is 6.5.0.

The BE products do not come with source code. But, Rave BEX products do include component source code and include the archived components that are not in the BE product line. The latest release of Rave BEX (Borland Edition eXtended) is version 6.0.5. We are working on releasing a 6.0.6 release as soon as we complete some final review and testing.

Rave Reports Win32 BEX 6.0.x will work with Delphi 4, 5, 6, 7 and the Win32 personality of Delphi 2005. But, Rave Report Win32 BEX 6.0.x releases will NOT work with the Win32 personality of Delphi 2006.

Rave Reports Win32 BEX 7.0.x will work with Delphi 4, 5, 6, 7 and the Win32 personality of Delphi 2005 and 2006.

Is Rave BEX out for BDS2006 yet? I'm a registered owner of the current
BEX for both .net and win32.

Thomas,

Thanks, I didn't receive an e-mail though. I think it's because my
boss was the one who registered the software on behalf of the IT
department, and he forgot to forward it. Gak.

Nevrona works on the Version Rave 7.0 BEX; in case you did not
receive the Nevrona-email announcement: it's scheduled to be released
in December 2005.

Rave 5 and Rave 6 will not work with Delphi 2006. Rave BEX for Win32
version 7 will work with Delphi 4, 5, 6, 7 and Win32 personalities of
Delphi 2005 and 2006. Rave BEX for .NET version 7 will work with the
NET personalities of Delphi 2005 and 2006.
