run any program through Delphi 5. The debugger shows it to me in the
Classes unit at the procedure TList.IndexOf. I tried loading a
program that does not contain any TList objects, but I continue to
receive the same error. I am of the opinion that something is corrupt
and I need to reinstall Delphi. Does anyone have any insite as to
what might be causing this problem and how I might go about fixing it?
I appreciate any help you might be able to give.

You might find comp.lang.pascal.delphi.misc more helpful.
If you have any third-party components installed, remove them. If the
problem persists, then you probably should try re-installing Delphi. If not,
add the 3rd party components back in, one at a time. Its likely that one of
them has the problem.
