Good point. Maybe in this case only - at least rate the report. If we
get 2,000 ratings (all 5s) and 2 votes it'll still be a nice message.

;)

Anders Ohlsson,

Reading your last posts I get the feeling you're trying to get as many
votes possible to be able to move the bureaucracy rock. If this is the
case why not send out an email to everybody who has signed up for the
Delphi/BDN newsletter asking them to check out QC and if they have a
bug they want fix to vote on it? (and maybe remind them of these
discussions over here, they may a better chance at identifying bug
numbers)

That's not a bad idea, and I'm considering it.

I have "1 / 68" at my screen meaning I have spent 1 vote on this issue

and a total of 68 have voted.

Just an update for those who haven't voted yet, but since this report
was opened it's become the highest voted report in the Delphi project
in QC, with a very respectable 146 votes (of which, 1 is mine). I
won't advocate people who have already used all their votes going and
moving all their votes to this report, but if you can at least rate it
a 5, and if possible, find your lowest priority voted report and move a
vote from it to this report, we might see it breaking 200 votes before
the afternoon today (Pacific time). =)

BTW, here's a web-based QC URL for those wanting to go that route--

http://qc.borland.com/wc/wc.exe/details?reportid=5750

(You will be prompted to login or create an account, depending on if
you've ever used QC before.)

nod, I just looked and it broke 197 votes. I think the reason for the
low ratings total is explainable though-- people are taking *all* their
votes and putting them on this report (all 5), but they can only rate
the report *once*. =)

My suggestion to those who signed up JUST to vote for this report would
be to search through some of the reports by a keyword for something
that you might find interesting (or, go to Query | Top Voted) and find
some reports you might want to put a vote or two towards (taking away
from this report, unfortunately, but at the same time, given the total
number of votes this report has gained in just a day or so, having your
votes on actual bugs would be great for the time when something is done
about this report).

Pretty good. 211 now. That's 200 just over night. What's the end of day
going to bring? Do I hear
500? Maybe 2,000 by end of week? ;)

How many votes or how many people voted do we need?

better I can tell you for sure.

Ahh, as appears to be the consensus so far from a users point of view
with regard to Delphi 7 updates-- more would be better. Wink I'm glad
this may make a difference in a way, going a year with nary a full
blown patch in site after swallowing a large price increase (even for
upgraders) is kind of difficult to deal with. =)

Allright, so I took a shot at a better wording for the report. Here it
goes, in case Marc or a sysop feels like it's good enough to update the
report:

Description:

This is a meta entry for requesting a Service Pack for Delphi 7.

It should correct bugs in D7, including, but not limited to, the bugs
in the reports listed in the "Steps" section.

Steps:

These are some of the bugs that should be fixed in the Service Pack:

(A-0) 2106 TLargeInt field can't accept negative values in ADO

(A-0) 2378 Incorrect multi-language (locale)

(A-1) 4167 Using XPManfest + Groupbox in Dll form
