Edilmar,
We had trouble with it also.
IMO the best way to connect Delphi to MSSQL Server is ADO. Using
TClientDataSet on client and TDataSetProvider in a middle tier is even
better...

Well,
I've managed to get some basic database functionality with WINE with
unmodified ADO-based Delphi6 VCL app against MSSQL7, but I agree it is a
pain, especially regarding multi-language (multi-charset, to be exact)
input/output.
