Today I updated my JBuilder 2005 with the Update 4 and, surprize: after
opening a file I'm not any more able to edit it. This is exactly as if the
file was read-only, which is not the case. Is there something wrong with
Update 4 ?
Kind regards,

No. Most of us are using Update 4 with no problems. But I do know that
a couple of other people have had problems getting it up and going. The
install procedure is just too complicated with too many manual steps. I
suspect some minor aspect of the install was done incorrectly or
incompletely.
If it was me, I would back it out (you did follow all the instructions,
which included making backup copies of the directories affected by the
update, right?) and then make sure I could get the basic install going
again, and then try update 4 again, but making sure that I followed all
the install steps precisely.
