What are the consequences of using the new compiler?

I've just read in the JBuilder 9 online docs on the Borland's web site
that JBuilder 9 has rearchitect Borland make and enhanced javac
compiler option that uses smart dependencies when building a
project. It also mentions that users can still use "old" Borland's
compiler to build the projects.
Note that you can use javac (either from JBuilder's JDK install or
project JDK) as compiler in JBuilder 8, too. The option is under
Project properties, Build, Java.
