No, this is not a case. You can download "MDAC check" program, but this does
not solve the problem. To all of you who does not have this problem could be
either you have not installed all the DLL from the same version or you not
using statements like Parameters.Refresh
Try and you will see the result. The only question left is what is the
solution? Borland?

i managed to have the same problem this weekend (be it with a different
dll).

turns out the mdac update didn't update all the files. re-applying it a
couple
of times fixed it.

also get hold of the mdac component checker from microsoft to check that
all
the files are correct.

It does not matter, actually. The pattern is as I've described
(checked with different configurations). Problem is in BORLAND ADO
wrapper, I believe. I have created the ticket months ago, but not got
even any acknowledgement from them.
Problem is, as soon as you have any version greater than 2.70.9001.0
it generates this kind of error.

have you tried installing mdac 2.7 sp1 (http://urljr.com/bb) on the
client and server?

Folks,

I'm getting error like this:

"Access violation at address 753C9DA1 in module 'sqloledb.dll'. Read
of address 00000018"

This error occures after upgrading SQL Server 2000 to newer than
MDAC
2.70.9001.0 version. I'm using Delphi 7 Architect version. Would you
please help!?

I know I posted this already on different groups and got a lot of
e-mails from folks who experienced the same problem, but I don't
know the solution.

If you know, please help!

Yep the problems with MDAC 2.7? exist all over the development mat including
Microsoft.

Similar problems are being reported in the VB world as well.

So, what is the solution then? I did not hear any problems from anybody but
Delphi folks.
