I've noticed that when I mouse click on a MonthCalendar it doesn't receive
focus and therefore when I select a date and then mouse click on some
other
component (e.g. TEdit), even though I have selected a date, the
MonthCalendar's OnExit event does not fire. I tried setting the
MonthCalendar's CanFocus property but even ensuring that this is TRUE I
can't get it's OnExit event to fire! Try it and see.

Well, I dropped one on a form and neither the OnEnter nor OnExit event
fires. I don't know if there is something special you have to do with this
component or not. I have never used it for dates so I can't be much more
help here. I prefer having users enter dates into an edit box only and
controlling their input to ensure proper date format.
Wish I could help more.
