I recollect JBuilder uses a TCP port to see whether it is already
running. I think you need to allow JBuilder (and Java) to open any ports.

Hi everybody:

I have JBuilderX foundation installed on my WinXP SP2 machine and I get a
null pointer exception raised from the primetime library.

Does someone know something about this problem?

Regards

ernesto

It makes a socket connection on port 8888. This port is configurable in
the <jbuilder>binjbuilder.config file.

It does not work!!!!

Would you care to be more specific? Did you try to open up 8888 in the
firewall? Did you try to change that number? Did you get the same
error as before? Or a different error?

It is difficult to diagnose problems without complete information.

More importantly, what is the error? You've said that you get a null
pointer exception from somewhere in the primetime packages. Where? Can
you post a backtrace? I'm not really convinced that this problem has
anything to do with that port number, but without knowing a few more
details it could really be anything.
