That is a question that can only be answered by Borland.

Ask over in the newsgroup

borland.public.install.cppbuilder

where Borland people monitor the group.

Just out of curiousity, Ed, why can that only be answered by Borland?
AFAIK, the BCB5 version was the last one that DIDN'T require
notification in order to re-sell, nor does it have an 'activiation'
requirement (though it does require the CD Key information).

Since those were the original conditions of sale, it doesn't really
matter WHAT Borland says at this point, does it?

Not trying to be argumentative (really), just asking.

Well, it all depends. If BCB5 was used to buy an upgrade to BCB6, then
it can't be sold without the seller losing the BCB6 license.

So, Borland probably has the information that can clarify this point.

Gotcha! I hadn't thought of that, actually...

Because only Borland's folks are competent to interpret Borland's license
agreements, especially because those agreements changed throughout the life
of BCB5. (changed twice if I remember correctly)

That I feel I know what they are going to say does not mean that I can give
a binding answer to the man. Only Borland's folks can give such an answer
and the person receiving the answer then has the protection of doing it in
"good faith", an actual legal term), and one which gives him fairly secure
protection. .
