I believe all programmers prefer Borland to Microsoft. Why? Because it's
easy to ask questions and get answers with Borland. I recently emailed an
enquiry to Microsoft to enquire what came as standard on their edition of
Visual C# standard edition. I enquired about ftp/telnet/email components. I
don't believe after 3 emails that I have yet reached a human. Word for word,
I keep receiving the same idiotic responses.

VC# Standard Edition has access to all of the .NET framework, but there are
no FTP/Telnet/E-mail components within the framework, as far as I recall.

Microsoft have their own newsgroups too (on msnews.microsoft.com), where
you could've got this question answered in no time. :-)

Indy for .NET should work with it, though.

I can confirm that, having used Indy components in VC# SE.

Funny, that's exactly what I get when I do reach a human in one of those
offshore support centers!
