I'm not sure how that relates to your subject line :) If you are using BCB6 try renaming the .HDP files in the VCL includes directory. They are apparently a form of precompiled header but in most people's experience they seem to make things a lot worse. Also make sure you have background compilation turned off. More RAM may also be worth considering.
