I have been trying very hard to source a reporting solution for a D2005
VCL.NET project. The solution requires the application to select and
manipulate the data then send the data to the report. With this data
requirement, the embedded ADO query and table solutions do not seem to
work. Does anyone have a solution with examples?
Thanks
Randy

Randy,
In Delphi 2005 I used Crystal Reports... It's somewhat cludgy, but what you
are asking is doable... However, I guess it depends on what it is you are
trying to do with the completed report... Manipulating data and having
dynamic reports is possible... The real question is what are you planning on
doing with the completed format? Is it view, and print... or saved to file,
or all of the above...
The free solutions in D2005 are Crystal Reports, or XML/XSL... I found both
of these to be viable soutions. In D2006 you seeming loose the Crystal
option... However there are other reporting solutions. If you are using MS
SQL Server on the back end, get a really good look at SQL 2005... Reporting
Services is fantastic...
