Hello!

If someone already has tested my components "DDObjects" which are still in
pre 1.0 phase I would be glad to receive some further feedback. So far I've
received some (and many thanks to the first licensees!!!) but I would also
like to learn more about your experiences. This does include negative
critism as well Wink I know, this takes some of your precious time but would
help me a lot developing these components and know if they are on the right
track :-)

Regards and many thanks!
Stefan

Haven't tested your components, but the website kinda creeps me out. I
will sugest you consider separating you business venture from your
personal hobby.

I agree with Femi, I think first impressions are very important and the
existing website seems to under sells DDOObjects in my opinion.
Like Femi I have not tried the library.

Best regards,

Paul H

Stefan,

I actually found your website very nice!

While I can understand what Femi means regarding keeping business and
hobbies apart... I have taken several tours through some of your
cemeteries and have enjoyed them very much.... "thank you!" :)

Hello...

and many thanks for your response.

@Femi: Actually the site did start as a private homepage while later the
library DDObjects has been added. So there's probably no good separation
between my private hobbies and the business venture... which actually can be
seen as sort of hobby Wink However, I think I won't seperate the content too
much but maybe I'll add an introductionary splashsreen or something similar,
which leads you directly to the libraries I do offer.

@Paul: What do you think, how I could better "sell" DDObjects in the initial
page?

@Raymond: Thanks. Nice to read from you again and to know, that you did
enjoy my pictures. How do you do?

Regards
Stefan

One of hobby's definition is as follows: an activity engaged in for
pleasure and relaxation during spare time

My question is: Will you let your commercial or important project
depends on a component from someone that have this approach towards the
development of that component? I know I won't, hence my suggestion.
Since you are charging for your components, it is now a business and
hopefully you'll see it as such.

A neutral home page with a link to your interest and components will

do.

Good Luck,
Femi

issue in such a way.

In fact many popular and wide-spread components for Delphi (and not just for
Delphi) grew out from the personal homepages. They (products) have to some
extent personalized, "humane" feel and their authors respond in person and
are valued for this approach. So if the product is good and gets a good
community, then the homepage will not matter so much. And there will always
be time for improvements of the product and for it's homepage. So let's give
a chance to the product Smile).

With best regards,

Hi,

I clearly understand that. Unfortunately, a bunch of them never grew

out of this mode.

You can still express yourself without distracting from the packaging

of the product.

So if the product is good and gets a good community, then the homepage
will not
matter so much.
Homepage is still part of packaging of the product, and some people

will not go beyond the homepage.

Quote:
And there will always be time for improvements of the
product and for it's homepage. So let's give a chance to the product
I wish him nothing but success.

Regards,
Femi
