|
|
Has anyone had the problem of attempting to schedule dts packages on a set
of clustered servers for which there is a virtual server name and ip
address?
Utilising the SQLDMO_TLB type library I have successfully scheduled dts
packages on locally accessable servers, ones available via web servers, but
not via web servers when the background SQL server is a virtual server based
on clusters.
If the virtual server's IP address is used to reference the server then the
job schedule indicates that no target servers were selected and thus the job
will not run. If the virtual server's name is used then the job fails to
even be created and locks the program up.
Unfortunately, the hosts for the servers have not yet been able to supply
any solution.
If anyone has come across and solved this problem then I will be grateful if
they could let me know how it can be solved.
Thanks.

I had no problems with using the virtual ip address from clustered
servers at all
How are you scheduling these packages?
When you right click on a package and select schedule package can you
execute it from the jobs by right clicking on the job and selecting
start job?
