However, the compile is extremely slow (about 10 times slower than that on my slower maching). I look at the CPU usage, and it stays at about 4%-10% ... On my old machine, it would peg 100%. Why so slow? Have you double-checked your project settings? Are you using optimizations? Are you using precompiled headers? Do any of your machines have multiple processors or hyperthreading? I have no idea why it works. I am not even going to guess, but I have had similar problems in the past and the solution was the same. Don't check background compilation -- reduces the compilation time at least twice 2. Why so slow? Turn off background compilation. It is on by default I think.
