I have obtained the dbexpress driver from Sybase, but have determined that
it doesn't work with the Pro edition of Delphi 7. Using a free trial of the
Enterprise version, the driver works fine.
Has anybody made the driver work yet under the Pro edition? How about Delphi
8 Pro?

I get a totally unrelated error message ("local transaction already active")
when trying to connect with Delphi 7 Pro. Can anybody with more knowledge of
the dbexpress technology comment on where this error message is coming from?
Would it be the driver issuing the message or Delphi 7? I get the message
either when attempting to set the connection to TRUE in the SQL Connection
component or when testing the connection in the connection wizard that is
accessible when double-clicking the component.

TIA

Hi Bernhard

search for that error message. IIRC it may have to do with multiple
transactions

The problem is that the driver is currently not supported in the 'Pro'
version of Delphi (or BCB).
We are working on changing this. At the very least a better error message
should be returned.
