Just curious, anybody with comparative experience with SQL-Direct and
DBexpress? Most specifically interested in Sybase experience, but
users of other database servers might have useful comments too.

Anyway, SQL-Direct seems to claim to do roughly what dbexpress does,
although I haven't used either as of yet. But, SQL-Direct seems too
cheap to be true. It is $100 w/o source or $300 with, and connects to
most major servers, MS, Sybase, Oracle, etc.

The only database programming I have so far done with Delphi is
Paradox BDE, never any "real" database. But, my project that I'm
looking at is with Sybase ASE.

I found a Sybase DBexpress driver at this site:

http://www.visoco.com/

And, SQL-Direct at this site:

www.sql-direct.com

The DBexpress driver is actually slightly more expensive, but both are
cheap. But as I said, SQL-Direct seems too good to be true. Any
comments?
