Does anyone know of any good (possibly free) ssh components that I could use
to make an ssh client. I am trying to control a couple of linux boxes and I
would like to be able to make my own client to do automation of tasks.

Use OpenSSH as a tunneling tool then use your favorite ICS
(http://www.overbyte.be) or Indy component. See http://www.openssh.com/.

Try Eldos SecureBlackbox. They have SSH Client components in their suite.
