|
|
Hello,
I must write an application that display a 3D render of a room (very
simple, floor, roof, walls with textures, and nothing else)
It would be nice to let the user change the point of view and move
inside the room (like in a 3D game) but is not necessary.
I'm not into 3D graphics but it should be quite easy to realize.
What I ask you is: which technology should I choose and where should I
start?
Should I use DirectX? OpenGL? other (suggestions are welcome)?
The software will be widely distributed, and will have to run on win98
and up, so I really need not to have trouble with missing opengl or
directx drivers.
Thanks!

Use OpenGL, then. Windows supports it out of the box, without installing
anything extra.
Look at

Aztica (was Eldermage) makes a nice VCL component called 6dx. I used
their old 4dx and had a lot of luck with it.
