In case anyone is interested I ported the tcp core of the Synapse delphi
based socket lib to C#

code is in the files section at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/synalist/

It was ported with permission.

Also it was my first real crack at a C# app so the code IS NOT PERFECT, use
at your own risk :-)

It does work well and is much easier to use than the standard C#
networkstream and streamreader/writer objects.
It also works great with Delphi 8 Smile It's just a small subset of the
Synapse library and more a proof of concept than anything else.

Feel free to improve upon it, there is some discussion in the group on
improving it.

It also works on MONO via C#. I succesfully built a multi threaded echo
server and it ran perfectly unchanged on Mono/Linux. Cool eh?
