I have a DBExpress TSQLConnection component connected to a
Firebird/Interbase Database. What follows, is a TSQLDataset component
connected to a Provider & TClientDataset.

Then a TDatasource connected to the ClientDataset. I connect
a TDBEdit or TDBMemo component to the Datasource.

I connect to a small database, 1 table, 1 field with no more than 4
records.

The Datasource component's AutoEdit property is Set to False, but I am
still able to change the fields in the TDBEdit or TDBMemo component. The
Clientdataset, however, does not seem to enter dsEdit Mode, but Delphi
does generate an error when I switch focus to another component on the
form.

The problem only seems to occur when I use a Windows CLX Application. I
have tried the same scenario in both Delphi VCL & Kylix, and it does work
properly.

As I am not as clued-up with Delphi component writing, I am looking for a
possible work-around or fix.
